MARILYN SANTOS
In 1996, I moved in Taytay and rented a small apartment in Brgy. Sta Ana together with my eldest daughter and my second new born baby. As I observed all people here in Taytay are talented in dressmaking and local garments are the bread and butter of the town’s people because clothing is one of human’s basic needs... That time my husband is first timer working abroad and I think of a way to get a job not far away from my children and at the same time to earn money for my family needs. I decided to work on our neighbour’s Ready To Wear business as a Garment trimmer where in their products are pants and shorts and sell them to Pasig Night Market. They also taught me how to cut patterns, sew and treated me as a family member.
HOW IS BORN
With my small earnings, I bought one sewing machine and remnants and make a dress because I also love see my daughters wearing my handmade clothes. As time passes, they saw my potential to have my own business and supported me. My husband also helped me with a start up capital to begin a small business. Yes, I didn´t have my own stall but I persevere to sell my products (dress) even I’m floating or no permanent stall in Pasig Night Market that time.
REACH MY DREAM
It takes a long planning and perseverance to become successful in Ready To Wear business here in Taytay. As I grew up in a broken family and didn’t finish my school I strive hard to give the best for my children and I’m so proud of myself that my two lovely daughters graduated from a good school with a Bachelor’s Degree.

There are times that I have lost a battle
but my I heart is more important than my
skill, my inspirations and my goal to my family lead me to continue my
dream.
